Kale has a reputation as the heavyweight of healthy greens, but it doesn’t sit alone at the top of the nutrient chart. Other veggies...and even a few fruits, rival or surpass its vitamin and mineral punch.

Watercress often claims the crown for nutrient density per calorie, bursting with vitamin K, vitamin C, and calcium. 

Spinach offers more folate and iron, while collard greens deliver hefty doses of calcium and fiber.

Step outside the leafy aisle, and some fruits also rival kale’s reputation. Blueberries, blackberries, kiwi, pomegranate, and even tropical picks like mango and guava overflow with vitamins and antioxidants.

Kale is still a champ, but the winning move is variety.
