Elvis Presley Dyed his Hair Black

And Used Vaseline on His Face

Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, had some unique beauty routines and fascinating hobbies...

His Hair Routine
Elvis was naturally a blonde but became famous for his iconic jet-black hair. He initially used black shoe polish to dye his hair before switching to professional hair dye as his career progressed. Elvis used various oils and pomades to maintain his signature style and would regularly touch up his hair, eyebrows, and famous sideburns to maintain that signature look.

Facial Care

Elvis used Vaseline on his face to keep his skin smooth and Noxzema to cleanse it.

Karate Master
One of Elvis’s lesser-known hobbies was his love for karate. He earned a black belt and even incorporated karate moves into some of his films. He practiced regularly and reached a 7th-degree black belt, making karate a big part of his life for over 15 years.

Unusual Eating Habits
Elvis’s food habits were legendary, with his favorite snack being a peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich, fried in butter. He once famously flew from Memphis to Denver just to indulge in a massive sandwich known as the Fool’s Gold Loaf, which was packed with bacon, peanut butter, and jelly stuffed into a loaf of French bread!

Carrying His Own Cutlery
In an odd yet endearing quirk, Elvis was known to carry his own silverware wherever he went, even to restaurants. This started when he was young, and it was a habit he kept throughout his life. He also brushed his teeth compulsively after every meal.

Superstitious and Numerology Fan
Elvis had a fascination with numerology and was known to be somewhat superstitious. He regularly consulted books on numerology, and this interest shaped some of the decisions he made in his personal life.
