In 1965, six teenage boys from Tonga “borrowed” a boat and were caught in a storm. Shipwrecked on an uninhabited island for over a year, they survived not by fighting—but by cooperating.


They built a garden, caught rainwater, and set a strict daily routine. When one broke his leg, the others cared for him. It’s a far cry from the chaos in Lord of the Flies—and a powerful real-world example of resilience and compassion.
