Dragonflies Have A 95% Success Rate

In Capturing Prey

Dragonflies: Nature’s Top Gun

Dragonflies are elite aerial hunters, boasting a 95% success rate when hunting prey. That’s one of the highest in the animal kingdom.

Their huge, multifaceted eyes offer nearly 360-degree vision and are finely tuned to detect movement, making it easy to spot tiny insects mid-air.

With incredible flight control, dragonflies can zip in any direction—even hover. Their agility lets them track and capture prey with pinpoint accuracy.

They use smart tactics too: hawking (snatching prey in flight) and perching (ambush style). Some even predict a target’s next move.

Add in spiny legs that form a trap-like basket and powerful jaws, and it’s no wonder dragonflies are such efficient predators.
