The Longest Insect in the World

Is 25 Inches Long!

The longest insect in the world is the Chan's megastick (Phryganistria chinensis), which can reach an astonishing length of up to 25 inches (64 cm).  This incredible species was discovered in China and is part of the stick insect family, known for their remarkable camouflage abilities. These insects blend seamlessly into their surroundings, resembling twigs and branches to avoid predators.  The discovery of the Chan's megastick has provided scientists with new insights into the diversity and adaptability of insects.
